I've been feeling lots of love for everyone I come across lately. Strangers on the subway, my family that I've had up and down relationships with etc. it feels good.
And I've really been feeling it for Aust. I've loved him through hell and back. I always will no matter what.

I am confused. What is the difference between "I have no expectations and I love someone no matter what he does or where he is or what choices he makes" and "I give him a new script and I KNOW that he is as I want him to be" ?

There's a huge difference.  When you love unconditionally,  you see that person as already whole.  Completely wonderful. Divine. And you just appreciate them in all their perfection.  There is no focus on what they aren't doing or saying or being..  There is only love for what you KNOW they are capable of.  Big difference in energy there.

So you love them unconditionally as they are now because you know they are capable of being much more?

 
Absolutely. They have the capacity to be infinite joy, and unconditional love-just as you do.  We are all completely whole and perfect in our entirety. It's just that we need to learn and embrace that concept. Have you ever heard the phrase "See somebody as wonderful and they will rise to meet your expectations"???  It's completely accurate. Loving unconditionally means loving a person REGARDLESS of the current conditions..... So that means seeing them in their perfection right now, and celebrating that. They absolutely will rise to meet your exoectations. You will only elicit wonderful responses from them if you vibrate at that energy level.

You're saying that we should see their inner being and not the version of them/ego. To see all of their parts, know that they could be anything and accept that. Love them unconditionally. Maybe we could show some compassion for their mistakes. See their beautiful self. And then, they will become that.

Ok. I don't want to be annoying, but please, tell me: regarding my situation (seeing him in a happy, serious relationship and in love, have lost contact), how can I see this? Love him unconditionally for being with someone else? And not being with me? This is difficult, to be honest. But I really really want to see this in a different way.
 

 
No, you have to see the reality you WANT, not the current physical reality. So imagine that he is completely in love with you! It's not about their circumstances, it's about their BEING. 2 very separate things. You can unconditionally love a person and pay zero attention to their circumstances.
