So my specific person is coming back into town just as I was about to leave cross country. but today I bumped into our mutual friend and he is trying to put on a get together next week and I know my SP will be there, so now i want to stay an extra week but my ride doesnt wanna stay and they are leaving so I'm taking a chance of staying behind when I may not get to see or hang with my SP, and then pay lots of money for a flight. but on the flip side it could be the start of the most incredible relationship for us. What should I do? and how can I stay positive that it will be something incredible? 

 
Only you can decide that, and I don't know anything about your situation, but if it comes down to whether or not to spend money, if you can spare the money and it's not going to put you into debt or dire financial straits, it is only money after all, and if it were me, and it was my SP, I would take the risk and stay and imagine in the meantime that the get together had taken place and everything had gone just as I had ideally wanted it to. My SP, as it happens, is currently 1,000 miles away from me, and will soon be probably 4,000 to 5,000 miles away when I move back to my own country,  and we had a falling out 11 months ago.  He isn't in a position to be able to travel to me, and if we reconnected whilst I was still here, it would cost me in excess of $1,000 to travel to see him for even just a few days because I would be staying  in a hotel, not with him, have to hire a car, flight, and all of the other expenses, and I'm not made of money by any means, but it would be worth it to me to see what would happen.
