Techniques used.

I don't know if I'm doing this right. Let me give a quick rundown of what I do and how.

I always listen to music. Always Theta music, but today I found some RS playlist on YouTube and it immediately put me into alpha. I lay back and begin to meditate. I count down backwards imagining my black background with white numbers. Sometimes I go to my happy place, which is me imagining swinging on a swing and then imagining my kids faces with big silly smiles. It brings my happiness level way up. Then I imagine him standing on a beach. Hearing the water. Smelling the salty air. I see him looking over the ocean.  I call him over. He walks over happy to be with me. We begin a conversation. He tells me a variety of things. "I love you. I don't want any other woman. No woman compares to you. You're beautiful. I want forever with you". Things like that. I respond accordingly. He touches my face. I touch his face. I feel his lips on mine. Throughout I lean in and whisper in his ear "Tell (me) that you miss her" or "tell (me) that she's he only woman for you". I repeat it several times. We go back to the conversations. Then we begin kissing. Sometimes we make love. Sometimes we just touch and kiss. Then we go back to the conversation about our love and how we feel and how we're getting married and having a lifetime together.

I sometimes feel like I'm floating. Always definitely in alpha. I just don't know step by step how others do it and I don't want to get it wrong. I've seen movement, but recently learned there's a new woman he's semi serious about. I'm planning to do some rubbing out on that situation.

Is this right? Or close to it?

Re: Techniques used.

It's absolute impossible to say, if that is right, because you don't mention anything about your thoughts and feelings which are the only important factors. But people who think they just have to apply a technique just long enough usualle don't "do it right", because they do all the techniques to make something happen and that doesn't work in my experience.

How do you know you're "in alpha"?

Do you mean my thoughts and feelings when I'm not visualizing and meditating? I'm very happy. I try to remain positive. My outlook on the outcome has been very good, but I'm okay if it doesn't happen, either. Been working on myself a lot. Working out, eating better, going back to school.... I get that you have to see LOA as a way of life because it's happening whether or not you practice.

I guess my big funk for the past couple of days was the fact that he's seriously seeing someone else, but I'm going to do the rubbing out techniques and continue focusing on me.

There are many signs. I feel very tingly all over, overwhelming sense of happiness and completeness, and occasionally I get the floating sensation. Very relaxing.

Both. You can also feel bad while you visualise, if you don't believe in what you visualise.

Well, words are a direct indicator of your vibration. And trying to remain positive is a very different vibration than being very happy. You can lie to others, you can lie to yourself, but you're always emitting vibrationally how you honestly think and feel. I don't suggest that you are dishonest with us or yourself, you are the only one who can really know that. It's just what many people do, when they start. They are desperate after a breakup and then they hear they have to be happy and they try very hard to be happy and within a day, they suddenly tell everyone how happy they are. It's a vibrational impossibility. You can't jump from despair to happiness, it simply doesn't work. The thoughts (and words) you have access to are dependent on your vibration and "trying to remain positive" suggests that you aren't where you'd like to be (yet).

I agree, but life, ya know. No one can always remain positive about everything. No one says "my toilet is leaking and I got a $300 water bill! Hooray!!".  Trying to remain positive in bad situations is important. I disagree also, though. I read a book that literally changed my life and I woke up one day choosing not to be sad anymore. It is very easy to shift your happiness if you work on it.

True, but you just proved my point with this argumentation. So you basically told us that you look at the thing you don't want and try to stay positive. You can do that, but it won't get you the results you want and surely won't make you happy.

You can disagree, but that doesn't change the laws of the universe. If you could make such a big jump, you already had everything you want and would live happily ever after. I have never said that it's hard to be happy, I just said that you can't jump from depression to happiness within a day.

I guess I'm just too new to this to understand the problem here. I did say in the original post that I get my vibration up by getting to my happy place. Rereading I do understand where you're coming from. Yes. I believe it and feel it as is happening. Often I feel tears in my eyes from joy. I don't know if that's correct, but it's overwhelming bliss during. If I don't feel that, I stop.
