Need advice on how to let go of the past

Hi! Hoping to get some techniques and pointers on how to let go of the hurtful parts of the past as it is an area I could really work on. I am on approximately week 3 of NC and am using this time to work on (and hopefully improve) myself and get my relationship back on track. Thanks in advance to everyone!

Re: Need advice on how to let go of the past

Neville Goddard talks about revising a situation to give it a better outcome, say if you had an argument you could give a memory a happier ending. I've used it in therapy when I've had memories that used to cause me to wake up in the middle of the night crying. They don't really affect me anymore. Here's a YouTube video of someone reading The Pruning Sheers of Revision. It's actually quite helpful if you can understand Neville's old-timey English.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh__3bVrXb0

Re: Need advice on how to let go of the past

This is something I've struggled with.   If the painful past wants to pay me a visit,  I'll replay it but change it in my mind. Much like what Stacey said,  if arguments re-surface - I give them a different ending by changing what I may have said to them or what was said back.
