So...I'm having a day. Just applied to a position and was flat out denied within 10 minutes of submitting my resume. I was told I need more experience. I'm currently changing career fields, therefore I don't have much experience in the field I want to be in. But how am I supposed to get experience if no place will hire me? I've been hacking away at trying to find a new job within this field for about a year now, with no success.
Typical feedback from the companies I'm applying to is 3 months. One company is my dream company, and I've applied to a position there earlier this month. The position closes tomorrow so I know I won't hear anything from them anytime soon. This is the position that I've been using the LOA techniques that I haven't really used in the past for.
Currently, with this denied position today, I'm feeling discouraged and have had thoughts that I'm going to be stuck in my current position forever. Obviously, I'm doing my best to rid myself of these thoughts by throwing myself into the crap load of paperwork I have on my desk but to no avail. I can't talk to anyone right now because no one in the office is aware that I'm looking to leave.
Some kind words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated right now.

Hi!
Before anything, you should be really proud of yourself! Because changing the field of your job is a challenge. Some people would never consider it even though they don't like their job or interested in other field because it can be something scary. You should tell yourself how brave you are.
So you applied to your dream job and you know they take up to 3 months to reply. Right? Then at this moment WHAT CAN YOU DO to get that job? This is how I live my life and it works. Trust me. You do all your part with all your effort, and when you are all done with your part and it's not up to you anymore... Let it go. Stop stressing out because that is negative energy. Stop looking at the fact you were denied at one job that wasn't even your dream job! Let it go! Drop it. Forget about it. But if you want to think about this matter, think about how awesome it will be to walk into the office at the dream company. Yourself enjoying working there because your co-workers are so amazing! Your family and friends telling you how happy they are for your new start!. Relax and find absolute feeling that you already have the job. As I am writing this I'm already sure you got this job! So now it is your turn. Everything is always working out for you. and you know it!

I've scripted just how good it'll be when I'm at the place, what it feels like, etc. Should I stop scripting then, and just forget about it? Honestly, I won't be too upset if I don't get the dream job, but I do want a job within the field that will eventually prepare me for that dream job, and I think thats why I was so upset yesterday. I saw this particular job (that I applied to yesterday) as a way out, and since I was denied so fast, it just hurt.

You need to get in the mindset of, "I can get a job easily and freely, people want to hire me, I have amazing luck with jobs, etc."
Thanks Blue. I definitely need to start affirming more. I've been at my current place for 5 years so I've built up a lot of experience and skills, and I am capable of getting any job.
