I think you should do what makes you happy.  I can understand your confusion whether this sends a mixed message to the Universe.  But, remember the Universe IS you so it seldem gets confused.

Would you be happier traveling with guys for vacations? Then, I think you should start to do this even when you are together again.  Never deny yourself a happiness.

This time have the confidence that you can make a decision for yourself and have him be ok with it.  Think of the relationship as being something better this time.
