Ignoring reality

Well I think I'm doing this right. I'm finally to the point where my mind isn't sporadic anymore. Lots of meditation and affirming that I'm in control of my thoughts and no one is responsible for how I feel. Whenever a thought enters my head such as, well she's still with that guy. I just label it what it is. An obstacle and affirm all obstacles are illusions and I have the power. It feels quite awesome to feel this power. What I want to know is how will I know when I'm ignoring reality versus resisting it? Will it be as simple as physically feeling tension somewhere in my body?

Re: Ignoring reality

I don't really like the term "ignoring reality" so much, even though I use it for lack of a better word. You can't really ignore something, because when you decide to ignore something, you put your attention on it and it's the thing with the pink elefant. So, it's more a shifting of focus. When you "try to ignore" reality, you still think on some level about reality and it will cause resistance that you can feel. When you think purely about your desired reality it will be a joyful experience.

Re: Ignoring reality

Then if I see something I don't like. Just say okay I know this is a refection of past thought and allow it in the moment and think of a more desired reality?

Re: Ignoring reality

To me, and for me, it's more like truly understanding and embracing that thought is the only consciousness, and that consciousness creates/is the only reality.

When one truly understands that, it becomes so much easier. Β Because why would you think bad thoughts or negative thoughts? Β And why would you "see" (interpret, experience, witness) things you don't like?

Since you're responsible for your mind and your thoughts and and consciousness and therefore your reality, if you "see" something you don't like - just ask yourself what thoughts you had or are having that have lead you to "see" (perceive/experience/witness) this thing you don't like.

So yes, in a way seeing/experiencing/perceiving/witnesses things you don't like are the product of past thoughts but.....they're also an indication of where your thoughts are at now. Β Yes, there is that thing called the shadow or echo effect where things seem to pop up in "reality" (external world) that are the product of old thought patterns - but - in my opinion - if you're truly in a good, aligned place with yourself - you actually would be impervious to even perceiving that which you don't like - shadow or not.

You'd be in such a state of peace, confidence, inner knowledge, harmony, etc. that you'd just not be able to perceive the things you don't like - or better yet - better said - your perception of the world around you would automatically produce positive spins and angles to all that you see.

This is a process - because you have to train your mind - most people are so in the habit of thinking and perceiving in old ways that do not serve them - it takes some practice to retrain the mind and gain control of thoughts (and therefore perceptions).

Hope this makes sense/helps.

Re: Ignoring reality

Thanks for the article. I like the whole part where every reality exists now. That the reality I see and the one I want both are valid I just need to shift to the one I want
