So I have managed to forgive my guy about some things that had happened when we were in our last relationship that I never got an apology for and really hurt me. Some people say when you are starting a new and healed relationship that you forgive and write a whole new story. Am I supposed to let this go? Or is bringing up the past a good thing for healing?Β

I wouldn't do it, even from a non LoA perspective.
Lately, I don't see a reason to think about the past, because it's gone anyway. You can think about beautiful things from the past of course and attract similar things into your future. But why would you think about bad things in the past? You are wasting your present moment with it, you are wasting your creative power you have in this present moment and you manifest things in the future you don't like. You can't see your past, so you can change it. Just start to tell you a different story in which all this things have never happened or in a more positive way. In the end, you maybe even forget about the old version of your story and you don't feel a need to talk about it anymore.

I had thought that, that was the way to go but I was talking to someone else who had said that because you don't know why he did it he should be confronted with it because it was a really mean thing to do. I agree it wasn't ideal but the idea of having this amazing relationship and then asking why he was being a certain way brought up so much fear because it would be stepping back from the amazing relationship.Β

Fear is a strong signal that your thought is out of alignment. It's your Inner Being telling you "no no, that isn't a good idea". So better listen to your Inner Being to other people. It's much wiser than people who are (mostly) out of alignment with their own truth.
And you actually do know why he did it. He responded faithfully to your vibration. That's the only reason for everything. There is no other cause than your vibration. So it would be more beneficial to ask yourself where you vibrated and how you can change that for the next time. Or you just drop it completely and focus on thinking the right thoughts.
