The universe does have small ways of relaying to us the information we want for sure ! Like the universe can give you hints that you're in danger before you are in danger, like when you suddenly don't feel right walking down a road, or when you get a shiver up your back and you think of someone, which I believe is because they are thinking about you. Or when someone says something out of the blue that answers the question you've been asking in your head. Or when you see an actual sign that relates to a thought you were just thinking! But then I used to try and do things like saying 'if I see a rhino today, it means that I should text my ex' or other things and that didn't work out very well .....the universe gives you signs but not in the way where you can literally become all knowing about everything. You don't know if you're person is single but you can attract that information for real by asking the universe to send it to you, which it could, through the form of someone telling you something, or seeing something on social media about them, or seeing them out alone or out with someone...you can get the information. But if you say that you want to know if they're single by seeing the word single, you're actually just ASKING to see the word 'single', which you will see, because you want to and you're in vibration with it. 
But I also believe you can know things from your intuition as well. You can just feel the answers sometimes. I have in the past and have been freakishly right.
