Experimenting
So, today I've decided that I'm going to try a little experiment using Lainie's technique with R when I see him at work.
Even though this isn't my "normal" weekend, he always seems to find me when I'm here and I'm not complaining! LOL
Today, after "bumping" into me, he will walk through the Emergency room, past all of the "haters" and come out to my desk in the lobby. I can clearly visualize him leaning on the counter next to my desk, chatting with me about random things. Then he will ask if I want a snack while I'm at work.
I actually don't care much if I actually get the snack, I just want him to ASK me if he can bring me something back.
Before anyone freaks out about me thinking too small, let me explain. R is a nurse on an ambulance and I know that there are many times where he offers to bring me something, I say yes and he just never makes it back to MY hospital since he goes to multiple within the city. For example, during the winter months, he would check in with me at about 8am, asking if I wanted hot cocoa since he knows where I sit it cold. I would of course say yes... he would get busy with patients and my hot cocoa would show up at 1pm! I still appreciated the effort, even if I was no longer cold. So, sure, I would like him to ask and deliever, but I'm willing to start small and get the asking part today.

Starting small is perfect! Because you will easily believe it can happen, so it will! Then you can move onto the big guns! Can't wait to read your update 😘

ooops... Hahahaha
So, he has already been in and we bumped into one another into the Emergency Room. However, after that I inadvertantly ignored him! I was focused on something with my coworker and when we were done, I walked away to do something else. A short time later, she comes up and asked if I ignored him on purpose. Apparently, he was standing just behind me - watching. I was totally oblivious to that!
Hopefully, we'll get another chance to interact today!

Two more interactions today, though no food offer. However, he made it point to tell me that he was able to hoover down a soda and cheeseburger from McDonald's in between patients, so I'm wondering if the thought was planted successfully.
The first time, I ran into him while going to another part of the hospital. We chatted and then says he wants to make sure to give me a hug before he's not able to give me one today.
Later on, he actually comes to find me at my desk... and leaned on it, while we chatted about nothing in particular. (Hmmm, sound familar). He says he's leaving, so I ask if he wants another hug. He says, "Yes, hugs are always good." So, he gives me the normal hug that I get from him and I whisper "I miss you" while he's holding me. Well, it was barely a whisper, so I'm not 100% sure that he heard anything, but I just wanted to try something I had read about.
I don't have much longer today, so I'm not sure I'll see him again today.

. Wow! Give your grattitude to it Phillygirl. It's amazing you can see him, talk to him and ofcourse able to get a sweet hug from him. Keep your thoughts high.

I'm very happy that almost anytime I see him, I get a hug and its always one that leaves people who are around us questioning what is going on. I am very grateful that I get them, but I am ready for the next step.
