you know how sometimes your mind starts to picture something you DON'T want? Like your ex telling you she's not coming back? And you have to wipe that out of your mind and overtake it with another picture of what you do want? And sometimes it's not so easy?
Are you shaking your head up and down, saying "yup, I know that.."
I started doing this thing and it seems to help
When I have one of those pictures in my mind, I immediately turn it into literally a picture. Instead of a 3 dimensional thing in my mind that is moving with sound, it is like a huge flat poster on paper, motionless. Then I imagine it ripping apart and right behind it is the real thing that I do want, in full color, 3d, and super vivid.
If the bad thing comes back, BOOM, it's a piece of paper and it gets ripped apart again. And BOOM, right behind it there is me and her in each other's arms. I can play that game as long as you want mr. monkey mind....
I just found that this method is easier than simply trying to make something disappear.

Nice method. In NLP we use this method for erasing some old patterns. Nice advice. I recommand to all.

This is a good idea! I sometimes picture a big red ex being drawn through the negative image and say to myself "delete." I like this idea too though!
