current reality vs desired reality

Why is it that we are told to 'act as if' we have our desire, yet at the same time we're told to live in the moment? Isn't that kind of contradictory? I understand the fact that acting as if is to get the vibration up and keeping it there, as well as keeping focus on our desired reality, but why not constantly focus on that? Why has it been suggested to live in the current moment?ย

Re: current reality vs desired reality

Acting as if means to act and get the FEELING of having what you want this then becomes being a vibrational match to your desire. While living in the moment means to simply just appreciate all that you have now, and go with the flow. It isn't contradictory at all You dont have to act as if alllll the time. I mean personally I dont, but acting as if just helps you to get the feeling of your desire already being there in your mind. While living in the moment means to just be present in the NOW. Once you get some practice with it you wont worry or care about whether or not your desire comes because you are already getting the feeling of having it while being present when your desire isnt in your physical reality yet... hope this helps, and makes sense. This is my opinion from what I understand and learned during LOA

Yes, exactly! Also, living in the moment means not thinking about the past or worrying about the future, just appreciating what's happening in the now. You can do both at once. For instance, lets say I wanted to manifest a new boyfriend. I could act as if by feeling more confidant in myself, attractive and loving. That's how I tend to feel when I'm in a good relationship. I can feel those things while still being present in the moment and appreciate what's happening at the time.
