Help to stop beating myself up!

I fell off the happy wagon in a big way on Friday, I've been so happy and things have been going so well and now I'm SO annoyed at myself.

I got upset about something and it's quite deep rooted, friends saw me upset and also an ex of mine who's been lovely to me lately and I've been confused by how I feel.

But now he's seen me panicky and upset (granted not about him) I've probably ruined it. I worry everyone thinks I'm crazy, I'm very sensitive.

I'm so so annoyed I let things get to me and affect me, I've likely ruined things with this guy now as I've show him my weaknesses again and been a bit crazy.

I'm truly beating myself up and kicking myself and I can't seem to stop! Please help.

Re: Help to stop beating myself up!

RoseTinted you need to go easy on yourself. EVERYONE gets upset and EVERYONE makes mistakes. There's only one relationship you're guaranteed to be in for the rest of your life and that's your relationship with yourself. Why would you want to be so hard on the one person you've got with you until the day you die?

You need to change alot of your statements around, which you can do by repeating them the way you want them to be.

You worry he thinks you're crazy, but what if he feels really bad for you? What if he's worried? Or what if he recognizes you're a human being and everyone has their bad days?

Regardless, you can change your reality with your thoughts. Even if he thought the worst, which I find it very very VERY hard to believe he did just from what you're saying, you can change it and show him that you're strong.

First off, just stop beating yourself up. Think of a time where you created something great in your life, where you were strong. Focus on that. Make more of those moments. You will grow and get even stronger.

You don't want him to think you're crazy/weak? Do you think a strong person sits around beating themselves up for mistakes they made in the past? No. A strong person shakes it off and keeps moving.

You CAN be that person!

Thank you thank you, you have no idea how much that just helped me.

Re: Help to stop beating myself up!

Please don't worry rosetinted, everything will be ok. You need to stop thinking this way though! We all have times where we get upset, get into a funk/low vibration etc. I'm very sensitive too so I understand where you're coming from. However, we need to remind ourselves that we create our reality. If you keep thinking that he thinks of you a certain way, he will. You need to stop worrying that he thinks negative of you and start thinking that he thinks positive of you. He may appreciate your sensitivity and I'm sure he realizes you got upset for a good reason. You said he's been lovely to you lately so he must think highly of you. It's hard to turn your thoughts around sometimes but with some effort you can do it. Maybe take a day or two for yourself if you can. Just relax, pamper yourself with a nice bath, get some extra sleep or go out and treat yourself to something. Maybe even do something like go to a funny movie with a friend or for a nice walk. Do anything you can to soothe yourself and start to feel even a little better than you'll be able to get into a better frame of mind. I know how you're feeling. I've been feeling a little scattered lately and nothing seems to be working out or flowing well for me. Yesterday I spent the day and evening with my Mom and some of her friends and we had a blast. I felt so much better and woke up in better spirits today. I really think a day of fun yesterday is going to get my positive thinking on the ball again and build some momentum. Maybe a day out like that would help you to feel better. You just need to get yourself to relax and focus on something good again and then your spirits will be lifted. This will pass and things will be great again!

Thank you so much, you're so right about taking time for yourself. I've been waiting for the fear to pass without needing reassurance from him. It's such s funny thing how your brain will fight you and say nope! Expect the worst to happen!

I made a promise to myself not to be oversensitive with ANYONE or anything anymore, so that's why I'm a bit annoyed. But things happen for a reason, I was reading a book about 'rules' of how to behave with a man you want, and all it did was make me beat myself up! And think right done that.. Too late...

I'm free all afternoon today so going to spend it on myself, cook some nice food and absorb all the good books on creating reality I can.

Crazy how our brains can slip back into old habits.
