Anxiety

So I just got done doing a presentation in front of my class, and I always struggle with my anxiety, but I can manage it pretty well to the point where I don't pass out. But I always get sweaty and shaking and my mouth starts to get dry. I just always freak out. I would really love to hear some encouraging words. In high school when I would give presentations and when I would finish it I would always ask my friends how I did. I don't have friends in college but idk I'm not gonna let it get me down. I don't like talking in front of people, and it happens at random times but whenever I do presentations I just freak out :/ I know meditation and stuff helps with it but I been so busy I haven't had time plus what I talked about on the other post that I need to be consistent. But I would love to hear some encouraging words from you guys it may sound silly that I am asking but I don't have any friends really and you all are my family/ friends! if any of you had or does struggle with anxiety tell me some tips on how you overcome them??

Ahhh I'm sorry guys I feel better now. Whenever I get done doing presentations i immediately start to feel down and freaking out, but I'm just so glad it's over and I'm calm now I typed this right after my presentation, but I am okay lol. I'm just at least grateful that I can control my anxiety to the point where I don't allow myself to have an anxiety attack normally my love would encourage me before I go up and speak, and this morning I sent myself a pretend text message from her saying how I will do fine and everything. But I am okay. I am not gonna let it get me down

Re: Anxiety

Just take all the LOA techniques you're using to attract back your person and apply them here.

Visualize being up on stage confident and calm.

Say affirmations about how much you love talking in front of people.

Script the scenario.

Keep "digging" down to why you have this anxiety, isolate that limiting belief, and do what it takes to replace it.

You're gonna do great!

Re: Anxiety

Take a shot of patron before you give your presentation. Seems to help me at least! lolΒ

That was a joke. Don't do that lol.

Re: Anxiety

Lol.. apart from the patron suggestion  (which works)
Focus on you being a confident person, and imagine yourself doing well and your audience congratulating you.

I know sometimes I would do presentations or fill in for therapy classes, I felt numb, and the words would flow but looking back I can't remember a word I said. The whole presentation happens in a flash, and how I know I did well is that people would be responsive and engaged. But beats me, it's like an outer body experience, I can't remember a thing. Have fun with it too, because if you forget something you can always inprovise. I used this tool alot when performing in plays in highschool.

Re: Anxiety

1. Imagine that everyone loves you and is DIALED in to what you are saying.
2. Imagine that you speak clearly and concisely. Imagine being confident.
3. Imagine that you are in LOVE with your own voice and speech.
4. Relish the fact that YOU are front and center. You are the focus! Enjoy that attention!
5. Imagine all of these things in a sleepy state and live in the wish fulfilled! You got this!

These are beautiful words!! Thank you sooo much for this! I will defiantly record all 5 of those in my journal to look back on the next time I present

Lmfao! Yes this is sooooo true! I always know it goes by fast, and yet I still freak out. Awesome thank you for sharing this! This brings me back to a few times in high school when I had to do a presentation and at first I would freak out, but then I just try to breathe and allow my body to stop shaking and I wouldn't feel nervous anymore. Also I love sharing my ideas and my creation with the entire class, and I want it to go exactly how I want it to be so people can actually understand what it is I a presenting. For example, today I went through mines hella fast because the fact that everyone was staring at me all at once freaked me out. Then when its over I would have wished I presented longer, and actually say everything I practiced on saying rather than freaking out and ending my presentation so quick! The two times in high school when I did amazing! I got a good grade and felt proud of myself for how I did. I think if I think about those moments then it will also help me feel better about my presentation
