Toddlers and training wheels

I was watching my toddler today, as she tried to master the art of bike riding. She started out strong. Helmet on, a look of fierce determination on her chubby little face. She was going to nail it! And then she couldn't get the bike started. At all. Her foot pushed on that pedal and nothing. Well. Her  helmet was thrown off in disgust, and she threw HERSELF on the ground,  kicking and screaming because it was never going to work!

And I got to thinking.. As I often do lol.. are we not exactly the same? We begin our LOA journey with such excitement, such hope! We do our visualisation, we write our script, and then nothing moves. So we throw down our helmets in proper toddler tantrum style!

I had the gift of a much broader perspective than her today. Had my daughter held onto her belief a little longer, and just tried her best for just one moment longer, her foot would have pushed through and the wheel would have moved. That simple act of faith more than anything else, would have kicked the wheel's momentum into gear. And with very little further effort on her part, the bike would have begun its journey down the path.

She resisted too early. A fraction too early. She took her foot off the pedal just a second before the magic would have begun. And it's the same with some of you.

Manifesting is like riding a bike, once you get used to it, it's simple. And once you start that momentum, you're golden. But it takes a little effort at first, and a LOT of willpower. Learn from my daughter, who later tried again and is hours later almost a BMX pro! Don't throw your helmet off too early- you were probably seconds away from your manifestation!

If you imagine it in your mind..
Believe it in your heart..
Feel it in your soul..
You will hold it in your hand πŸ’žΒ

Re: Toddlers and training wheels

Nice post Cherished!

This reminds of when I was kid learning to ride a bike without training wheels. It was a beautiful spring day and I just wanted to stay inside and play video games, but my Dad had other plans. He was gonna teach me how to ride a bike. I couldn't balance it, I was scared and frustrated, my Dad was gonna use a meter stick to push my bike along and stay jogging behind me as I learn to find balance. He pushed a little too hard and I was riding down the sidewalk with no idea what to do, I was scared of passing the alley and going out into the street, of getting too far from home, but it didn't happen. I peddled and tried to keep balance, but I wobbled into the tree in front of our yard instead. My Dad looked at me and said "Hey, at least we're having fun, huh?" We went to Home Depot after that and we ate hot dogs and some soda. Soon enough, I learned to ride a bike on my own.

Now I imagine that God must be looking at us like kids of power, giving us a push on a bike and maybe we don't have balance now, maybe we will get scared and have accidents now, or wobble into a tree, but the Force is always there with us, helping us to believe in ourselves with each gentle push, and reminding us to have fun along the way.

Re: Toddlers and training wheels

My two young children have that belief. That they can manifest unicorns. But my 9 year old is the opposite he gives up before he starts. I'm desperate to find a way for him to have more resilliance and confidence.
