The "No Mention of Your Lover" Thread

So I was inspired by Cherished's awesome post here about falling out of alignment but "bouncing" from it: http://veronicaloa.boardhost.com/viewtopic.php?pid=14617#p14617

Lately I've gotten to a place where I realize I need to TRANSCEND this obsession with the process of attracting back a lover. What I've noticed through all the articles and forum posts I've read is that by constantly focusing on the process, you actually aren't letting it work its magic.

I've spent so much of my time since discovering LOA just delving into it, obsessing about it and talking about it. But not really practicing it. It's like working out. You can read all the articles you want on lifting, but you won't get muscles unless you actually get your ass to the gym.

In all that time I spent obsessing I stopped doing all the things that used to make me happy. I fell behind on all the t.v. shows I used to watch, I gained weight, I stopped reading, I lost touch with friends, I fell behind on my movie list.

But when I got back to those things I realized that not only was I happier, but all those limiting beliefs and negative emotions didn't hurt me as much.

Which lead me to this discovery: when you're spending all worrying about the process-- Am I dealing with these negative thoughts properly? How do I make these limiting beliefs go away? Did I visualize enough today? Should I meditate some more? Is it okay if I go a day without scripting?--you're still giving that person ALL your power. But when you're pushing "the process" to the side and focusing instead on "How many episodes of this show can I watch today?", "What awesome thing I can cook for dinner?" or "If I leave now, can I catch that six o'clock movie?" you're not only helping yourself feel better, but you're raising your vibration AND STOPPING THOSE NEGATIVE THINGS FROM HURTING YOU SO MUCH!!!

This weekend I barely thought of LOA, barely went on any forums or read any books about it. I went out with friends and I ran errands and I watched t.v. And whenever those negative thoughts popped up they didn't even hurt as much because I thought "Hey, I've got this next episode of Daredevil to watch and that makes me feel good so why get down?"

Back to what Cherished said, I know it can be so tempting to write on this forum, but it really does hold you back when you constantly dwell on what's wrong. I've come to see that the only solution to combatting any negative thought or feeling is by shifting your focus--regardless of how difficult it is. I know it's hard, but I think a lot of us need to stop posting on this forum so much. Obviously we all need help every now and then, but in the long run we need to realize that the key to reclaiming our happiness doesn't lie on a forum, but within ourselves.

Do you really want your life's purpose to be "attracting so-and-so back". HELL NO! You're all worth more than that. When your lover comes back and asks you "So what have you been up to since we broke things off?", do you really want to reply, "Oh, well I spent this entire time doing scripting and visualizations and affirmations and NAPs and all these other various techniques to combat my negative beliefs in the name of raising my vibration to attract you back"?

Again, HELL NO!!!

You want to reply that you're kicking ass at your company or you took up all these new hobbies or that you discovered all these awesome things about yourself. In doing this, you'll nip all those negative feelings and thoughts in the bud. Conquering negativity doesn't lie in analyzing negativity, it lies in shifting your focus to positive things.

So in order to help all of us focus less on what's WRONG, I thought I'd start a thread devoted entirely to what's RIGHT with our lives. Beautiful things we've discovered about ourselves. Hobbies we like to do. Adventures we had that we'd just like to share.

To ensure that this happens, I've decided to impose a rule that after this post WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO MENTION OUR LOVER IN THIS THREAD WHATSOEVER. This journey is about you, not them, and so no posts in this thread can have their name or anything about them in it.

All posts should pertain to you: who you are, what you like to do, etc.

No mention of lover....starting NOW!!!!

Thank you for this reminder! Man I love this! I 100 percent agree with you cause I have noticed I have been spending too much time on here and focusing on the process so much and making sure I do this and that. I have even been neglecting my school work just because I am searching up success stories and trying to understand LOA more! This really helps! Today I am going to change all of that and start actually living and not think so much on the process and LOA! Cause I can be missing out on something good or I could have accomplished like I wanted to, rather than talking about it. I think im going to committ coming on this fourm every other day! Thank you!!!!!

Mannn... I love this to.. Bravooo..

Spending too much time on the wanting and not on the living...
If we are really trusting LOA so much then why are we not going out there and really living it?

However..I commend you on this decision, but many people, like you and I were once beginners to this, and needed to be guided along. I infact love helping people raise their vibration here, love seeing the switch in them. The greatest thing you can do for another is to intend them wellness, intend them getting on their path. I needed it, you need it.. we all needed the encouragement at some point or the other. Heck.. there would not be a Veronica Isles forum if it wasn't for that.

But I get what you are saying, and we all need to stop pinning over the obsession of getting them back.

I didn't consider this. I guess this thread can be for those who are more along on their LOA journey and need to start making the transition from "Testing the Waters of LOA" to "Water Skiing Across LOA".

I love that. Exactly what I needed today.

Re: The "No Mention of Your Lover" Thread

Aaahhhh!!! Thank you TheGiver..! It relaxes me so much!! Just today night I was worrying that whether am I investing the required time to visualisation!
As I am very lazy,it is a tiresome work for me to build up a scene and visualize it...
So I just do my gratitude journal(last 3 days) and visualisation where I hold my thought  for 17 secs, I don't know it crosses 68secs every day or not! I do these things at night! Some time I don't even feel like to do the visualisation! bt still I manage to do,but I don't force myself! After seeing people here in the forum doing scripting, vision board, visualisation I really got very worried today as I thought I don't have enough preparation to pass the exam.. Lol!!

So what I follow is :-
1. I try to keep myself happy.
2. I try to keep myself busy( if nothing to do I just eat up my television set.. :D )
3. I go out with friends.
4. I watch movie.
5. I avoid people who bring tension and disturbance in my life (people saying ,"he dint love you ever","he must be with some other girl now","he has been physical with other girls now for sure" , etc.)
6. I always say to myself that he loves me a lot.
7. I thank God and Universe everytime for bringing him back in my life( I hope I won't me cursed for bluffing god! )
8. I don't much think about my love all the time, I try not to think all the time, but again I don't force myself, if some positive thought comes in I cherish it and if some negative thoughts  comes in, slowly and steadily by diverting my mind by eating up my TV set(lol once again ) I remove those thoughts.
9. I do pujas and chant mantras to calm myself.
10. I try to help people which makes me happy!

My love loves me a lot! So what's there to worry about??! ;)

Am I doing right? Or I need to do my visualisation more? Do scripting, vision board ,etc.?
