So I thought that I would share something to perk some of you up who may be feeling a bit low. It isn't a story about my wife and I, but hopefully the stuff behind the story will help you along.

I was scheduled to sit a professional certification exam about a year ago. I deferred the exam having just moved jobs and cities. The deferred exam that I was supposed to sit was scheduled to occur in June 2015. This date ended up being only a few weeks after my wife decided to leave our marriage. I was in no shape or form in the position to take the exam...and was allowed to defer it again to December 2015.

Fast forward to the end of last year. I have this exam on....I haven't really studied for it but I'm comfortable with the content....and I'm in such a thought pattern that I don't really care should I even pass. I would have liked to pass the exam and just have it over with, but I didn't care if my results were failure. It was to such a degree that the night before the exam (which coincided with farewell drinks for a colleague) that I decided to stay out for drinks with my work friends instead of going home and having an early night like others I knew that were taking the exam. I got a bit drunk that night and got home at midnight. The exam was on at 8am the next morning. I got there in-time, did it, and left.

Well. I got my exam score this morning. I passed. And not just passed, I came within the top 10% of all who took the exam (this is a worldwide exam).

So how did this happen? Well, I wasn't actively trying to use LOA to pass this exam, but I just knew that I would pass the exam, and also didn't care if I would pass or not. Detachment. Yes....I may have the professional knowledge and chops to make sure I passed the exam...but honestly, the exam wasn't that easy for one to have simply breezed through without any preparation.
So - remember - we have what we desire (big or small) - just believe you have it and detach yourself from needing to have it. Its yours!!
