When I visualize things, it's usually as if I'm the camera and I'm watching myself/the scene. I read that it's better to visualize as yourself and see things in the first person so I'm going to try and do that from now on. I'm just wondering if the way I've been visualizing all along is ineffective?

I always visualise in 1st person as it makes it more real with all the senses. I read somewhere it's better this way. I guess it's whats easier for you. I don't think ineffective.

The better way to visualize is from the POV of the actor instead of the director or the spectator. You must BE in the scene, and NOT watching the scene. You should not be able to see your body, unless you are looking in the mirror. What you should see are your legs and hands.
To practice this kind of visualization, ask someone to sit on a chair in front of you and talk to them about something funny. Remember this scenario from your vantage point.
Now close your eyes and recreate this scenario in your mind but replace the image of your friend with your love interest. Hear the sound of their voice, watch them talk, laugh at their jokes, feel the love. Be as creative as possible.
Use all your senses so that your vis appears so real. Use your heart, not your mind. Your heart should feel love and gratitude. Remember to FEEL as if it's happening RIGHT NOW. The mind should visualize and let go, and not reason.
Visualize when you are about to sleep -- this is the most effective time to visualize, or during your nap times. You must be sleepy to imprint this vis in your subconscious.
Practice, practice, practice until you get what you want.

I agree with everyone, there is no wrong or right way but I would think the visualizing from 1st person would create a more real feeling. As if it were really happening to you and not just some person and wishful thinking.

Yes senses are important if they touch your arm you can feel it on your arm. You are in that moment as its happening and the physical and emotional feelings are like it's really happening. Some days are easier than others. But as long as you are enjoying it and it feels as real as possible you are on the right track.

Generally all of the historical writing on LOA and visualisation is very very adamant that you must 'see' it like you see out of your own eyes, not from anyone else's perspective. Neville Goddard especially said this is completely key to manifestation.
Why is it so effective? It makes it feel as real as possible for you. I have also had some very spooky things where things I've 'seen' in visualisations, through my own eyes, actually occur. Try and use as many senses as possible when you visualise, touch is particularly effective I've found.

I personally find it very difficult to vcisualize in the 1st person so I do what I can ... however it feels very real to me .. I know what every part of his body feels like so it feels very real to me .. do what works best for you and don't over stress or analyze if its right or wrong I get good results mostly from gratefuls and feeling the feeling... ive also read many times opver that if ur visualizations are nt clear its not that important .. as long as u feel the feelings as real
FEEL YOUR FUTURE!
