Sometimes, I like reminiscing about the fun we had together. Today, I was going through some things and found the card he sent me on our first anniversary and the short note he wrote me on our second. I read them and I felt happy and giddy and I tucked them in mt LoA journal.
I know we shouldn't be hanging on to the past, and focus on the present and future instead. But what if bits of the past make me feel happy? Is that all right?

Anything that makes you feel good Gabby. Don't worry about it. You're doing fine and it's still good thing that you can look back at the past and feel good. Have you ever seen old lovers look back at pictures or memories of themselves and feel young again. Good memories never die and as long as you can use those memories to build the strong foundation for the future.

I agree as long as you feel good and hopeful those memories are helping try to take it to the future visualize a new card or note as well

Yep, echoing what everyone else said – do it if it makes you feel good.
But maybe if you wanted to feel like you're being productive and creative about it, you could take the cards and notes and put them in a special section with space left for the NEXT ones he's going to send you! And every time you look at that, you can feel excited and thrilled that it's coming to you.
