Spotted on a website today. I definitely agree with it.

You must let go of the lower to receive the higher.That could be a NEW relationship with your former love. (You don’t want the OLD one. It was broken and has run it’s course for a reason.) If you two are meant to be together, you will eventually come back together. But it will never happen if you don’t let go of what once was. If you are not meant to get back with your ex and you go through the process of cleaning and clearing, a marvelous, better suited man will enter your life.

I agree with everything written in this. Sometimes you don't know what is best for you so it's better to stop chasing the old relationship.

But I always get confused about one thing, how can "you create your own life" and "it will happen if it is meant to be" go together?

I think each desire we have is given to us from our higher selves/God/Universe or whatever you believe in. They know what's best for us and they know what's "meant to be". Our desires are God's will and will always come into our physical experience, even if it takes years for us to allow it in.

I think if it's a desire that's coming from something greater than ourselves, then it's meant to be. If it's a desire coming from our ego, then it's probably not meant to be.

That's what I believe. In the book Ask and It's Given, Hicks says "If you have the ability to imagine it, or even think about it, this Universe has the ability and the resources to deliver it fully unto you."

There's someone, I can't remember who, that has posted a lot about the difference between desire and obsession. If it's obsession, then it's probably not going to work out.
I once wanted an ex back. Looking back on it I realized it was just obsession. I was heartbroken that we weren't together anymore and wanted him back more than anything, but after I had worked on me for a few weeks a new, much better man came into my life.

Na na! I can clearly tell the difference between obsession and desire. What you said is very interesting though.
So it basically means no matter what, I am going abroad next year. 😂
