    I recently re- read this book. I forgot how beautiful it was and it seemed to talk directly to my soul this time round

    Sam, The Alchemist is basically a parable about following your dream. I need to reread it. A dear friend gave it to me for my 18th birthday, so I always think of him when I read it, so lots of personal memories of good times as well.

    The story of how Coelho's own dream of getting it published and read was fulfilled is beautiful in itself, and it's included in the new introduction to the 25th anniversary edition (from memory).

    A friend of mine who i met last friday was actually flying to Barcelona on the Saturday for a meeting with said Author !
