I sent my love a card for Christmas. It's an intricate pop up card of the NYC skyline, where our son and I live. Aust lived in NYC right before we met, but he moved back to our home state after he finished college because he could no longer afford his rent. He used to talk about it all the time because he missed it so much and now that our son lives with me in New York he says he knows he belongs in New York and he's working on moving back.

I thought it'd brighten his day to have a little piece of the city. It should arrive today or tomorrow based on what the tracking says.

I thought I'd feel nervous but not really. I got it because I know it will touch his heart to have something like that. He's very sentimental and he's also an artist. The card is unique as well, which he'll appreciate.

I sent it with no expectations. If Austin doesn't respond I will be okay just knowing it put a smile on his face. But of course, I would love to hear something sweet from him. ❤️
