When living in the state of the relationship you want, how do you handle things like being apart from your person on a special day like their birthday or a holiday? If you are out with a friend on that day, do you just feel that your person maybe had to work and so you decided to go out with a friend instead? Do you spend time with them in your imagination later when you are alone as if you are actually spending that time with them for real?
This may seem trivial, but I wonder about details like this and am just looking for tips.

If you weren't together yet in the outer world, you could look upon their birthday or other occasion as part of the current reality that you are ignoring until you are together and ignore that it's the occasion on that day. There's also nothing wrong with imagining being together with them on that occasion, spending time together having fun or a romantic meal or whatever you want. I suppose it's whatever makes you feel good about it. Your goal is the relationship, so whatever makes it more real to you is the best choice, I suppose.

I agree with Cynthia. It's more about the feeling of conviction that they are yours. You can of course visualize, if you enjoy it. But you don't need to fake anything. It's the knowing that matters.
