Thoughts about individuals being able to sense the fact that someone is close to them?

I ask because there have been several strange incidences over the years with my love... when we have been together, on our way together and apart.

For example, there have been several time when we have both been working (we work in a hospital setting, me in the building, him on an ambulance) and for whatever reason I feel like I need to get up from my desk take a walk to stretch my legs only to find him walking into the Emergency room with a patient.

Twice now on days that I have been working and he wasn't aware that I was here (including tonight), I was told that after he dropped off his patient into a bed, he proceeded to walk the perimeter of the Emergency room... like he was looking for me.  Do you think that subconsciously he sensed my presence, which lead him to wander?  Normally, when he knows I'm here, he takes care of business and then makes a beeline for my office.
