We re-connected last week, talked and talked and decided that although our long distance relationship is kind of hard and at times painful we really are serious about each other and are both in for the long haul  .. however as we're both single parents we are not going to come together 'properly' any time soon, there are lots of other obstacles preventing our union at this time, some out of hands, some that will be resolves with time .. I dont think it can realistically be possible for another 2 years, so in trying to feel secure in the relationship, move things forward with more commitment do i focus on the end goal - him moving in, marriage, happy ever after or do i focus on more security and commitment in the relationship, trips we'd like to make (ireland to visit his family) as interim goals .. seems strange to focus and try and manifest the end goal which realistically isnt going to be possible for couple years, also should i try and manifest solutions to the various obstacles as we go along .. work, finances, where kids going to live etc or does the universe take care of those details ?  any tips or ideas which loa to do would be appreciated. thanks

r​eading back, I'm realising I'm focusing on whats lacking/missing and not the wonderful relationship we have despite being in a 4 yr long distance relationship, he does make an effort when and where he can and tries to reassure me it wont always be like this, you cant buy what we've got etc - that in itself is pretty amazing and I'm thankful, but its hard not to feel lack when we're still in the same situtation 4 years on x
