Aarrgghh should I have said this?

Years ago I really fancied this guy and wished he would ask me out. One Thursday night I was out with my friends and when they asked me what I was doing Friday night I said "I've got a date with Steve." I hadn't but by the next day I had as he asked me out that evening!

I've been thinking of attracting someone recently and told a girl at my sewing class that I'm going to meet up with him soon. I know I will, but should we be talking like this?

Re: Aarrgghh should I have said this?

There is nothing we should or shouldn't do. I am not sure, if I get your question. Do you mean, if it is a good idea to talk about a desire as if it were a present physical fact, even though it isn't yet?

I would say it depends, how it makes you feel. For example, when I applied for my university place, I talked about what I would do, if I would get it. It wasn't that I faked something, it was more that my passion carried me away and in those moments, I wasn't even aware of the fact that it wasn't there yet. In that moments, it felt real and it was "normal" talk in the sense "if I get the place, then I do such and such" (I didn't apply LoA back then). That was a good thing, because it made me focus away from the lack and on what I wanted and I made that stuff up from the position of already being it. But lets take your example and lets say the person you are talking to knows the guy or you see a possibility that they know each other and that they find out you "lied" (I don't believe in lying anymore). If that possibility keeps you doubtful or make you feel bad, then don't do it. For me, I figured out that regarding most topics, it's better not to talk about it with non-LoA people.

No she doesn't know him at all and I've never mentioned LOA. I just blurted it out like with the Steve example.

It doesn't make me feel bad, negative or anything like that.
