I guess I'm just too new to this to understand the problem here. I did say in the original post that I get my vibration up by getting to my happy place. Rereading I do understand where you're coming from. Yes. I believe it and feel it as is happening. Often I feel tears in my eyes from joy. I don't know if that's correct, but it's overwhelming bliss during. If I don't feel that, I stop.

The problem is (it's not really a problem, it's pretty good actually) that you have a guidance system - your emotions - that shows you the way to where you want to be. When you look at something you don't want, it's impossible to feel good about it, because your guidance is telling you that this is something you don't prefer. You have three possibilities here. You can stop looking at it all together which can be hard, dependent on what it is. You can find better feeling thoughts about that thing which means in the end that you still direct your attention to something different (to use your example, you could appreciate the people who repair your toilet or whatever). Or you can continue to look at it and trying to stay positive. For me, that sounds like "Damn, this is crap. I really don't like that, but it doesn't help to complain about it". That's still better than standing around and complaining about it of course, but it is different from shifting your thoughts and feelings deliberately. Hope that makes it a little clearer.
And again, I don't know how you feel. I may be wrong. I just can tell from my own experience that I tried to get happy after the breakup in order to get my ex back and yes, I had moments in which I really felt good, but it was more pasting the good feeling over all the resistance I held in my stomach. And I think I am not alone with that Many people do that. You can see that, when they have a "bad" day after a really good one. If you are really happy, you just don't get depressed, because some minor reason like seeing your ex or not getting a reply to a text. If you don't experience such mood swings and you are mostΒ happy of the time, then keep going.

How do you know you're "in alpha"?

There are many signs. I feel very tingly all over, overwhelming sense of happiness and completeness, and occasionally I get the floating sensation. Very relaxing.

Now I did this last night. I was visualising myself with someone in a garden. I felt that I was glowing. It was most strange.Β
