Something similar happened to me. 

I was 4 days into the 25 day challenge combined with subliminal listening in my sleep where I had started to dream about my love and on the 5 th day a girl from my past made a comment about us being together. 

Then another female friend returned and a lad who I have not spoken to for quite a while. 

I think perhaps this is what people refer to when they mean the " journey " of manifestation and you just have to flow until you acquire the desired result. 

Stay positive.

I've been on a date with 1 of the guys and seeing him again tomorrow. Noticed I'm getting loads of attention just not from the guy that I want it from 😔

I don't think it will confused the universe. The universe know your deepest desire.
Actually I think it will only help you out, if you are dating someone else.
I believe your vibrations will be so much higher, because you won't be thinking of you specific person ad much, as thus you will get your emotions in order.
I'm currently in contact with another girl (she actually has the same name and age as my girl. How crazy is that?), and I'll use this contact to get in the right vibrational state. And who knows, maybe this new girl will even be more than just a fling. I don't know. I still love my girl and want her back more than anything, but I'm also taking care of my self. And that also means meet new people.
