Play make believe

Hey everyone

Something I've been trying to do lately is something I kind of did instinctively or just for fun as a child. If I found life dull, a situation boring or difficult when I was younger I would play pretend for an hour or so I was someone else! Or a different version of me!

Remember how vivid your imagination was? How magical life could seem? How everything had so many possibilities? I do anyway! Think of your favourite superhero as a child and try to ease into how they would be walking down the street this moment, how do they see the world? If you have an interest or background in acting or performance too, this can be a really fun game.

Don't worry so much about being true to yourself, as there are infinite versions of you, so many possibilities.

How would it feel for an hour today to live in your body through your imagination as the ideal guy or girl for your love? You'll find you will begin to love yourself even more! Also saying just for an hour or even five minutes takes some pressure off and let's you play this game without worrying too much about any dips in mood!

Everything is possible and life is just a game that you can change in a heartbeat.

I've been playing this game the past week and it's made me feel more confident than ever! I imagined myself as the female lead in my own movie where everything was at my fingertips. I felt in my body truly desirable (without any fears, as this is just a game, it's just pretend right! ;)...)

In just the past week I have had better relationships with my family, money has come to be unexpectedly, people have been generally nicer to me and wanting to be around me, one of my exes has been coming back and being incredibly loving, but most importantly I like myself a hell of a lot more as things are starting to just feel more fluid!

If you have a bad mood or something goes 'wrong' allow yourself to feel crap if you want, it's your movie. But you can imagine it totally different.

You are desired and wanted, magical and amazing and the universe is incredibly happy to have you here. I might feel awful and despondent tomorrow but right in this moment you can feel good, they're just feelings.

(And this is coming from someone who was suicidal and about to be hospitalised a few months ago.)

So don't worry.!

Xxx

Re: Play make believe

I recently had to sell my home and move back to the childhood home I inherited.

As I have been adjusting to living here again, I often find myself daydreaming and reminiscing about my happy childhood here. Sometimes it makes me miss my parents, other times it makes me so grateful to have had them and such a lovely place to grow up.

At times, I find myself remembering the countless hours of fantasy, make believe and dreams I had here;how real it all seemed.

I close my eyes and look at the sky from my bedroom window -- the same room I had as a child --, and can still hear my mother's soft voice, reciting "Star Light, Star Bright"...

I would love to recapture even a fragment of that wonder!

Re: Play make believe

What an awesome way to look at things and life! I am so proud of you, and your journey.Sometimes I like to think I am in a movie, and my life is a movie. I always see myself as the loving, kind, sweet- hearted, and generous girl who always has a smile on her face, and does what she wants feeling free and just glowing, because I am. Thank you for this.

Thank you so much, you are that girl! I can feel it. I actually had to re read my own post as I had such a low vibe day full of worry, but I refuse to beat myself up anymore! It's all part of the movie xx

Re: Play make believe

I do this a lot too. Sometimes it's the only way I can get thru the day, I just pretend that everything is exactly how I want it and it really does help. I even have pretend conversations to the point where if anyone saw me they would think I was crazy... oh well, whatever works!!!
