This is one of my real-life manifestations. I always share my manifestations to an audience whenever I get invited to do a talk. I was invited by Google, Social Media Day, Startup Weekend, TechCrunch and Huffington Post to deliver talks about my business but I would always find a way to inject my manifestations.
In 2006, I discovered the show The Appreciate and that inspired me to read business books. My obsessive personality led me to build my first business, an online fashion store. Because of this, I became fascinated with the Internet and technology. When that business failed, I started another business, an SEO company. It was a very new thing at that time.
I was overworked and frustrated because I couldn't sell this service in Asia. I thought that if I were in the U.S., I could have met and sold my services to people face to face.
The problem: I was in the Philippines and going to the U.S. was impossible for many Filipinos because of visa restrictions.
To get a tourist visa to USA, you have to show A LOT of documentation like bank statements, real properties titles, proof that you will come back, ties in the Philippines, look for a sponsor in the U.S., and a show money of $10,000 at least.
I have no relatives in the U.S. and didn't know anyone so looking for a sponsor was a no go. I also didn't have real properties and didn't have $10,000. Aside from that it takes a lot of money to travel. I was only making $2,000 a month at that time. (The average income in PH is $250 / month.)
But I had read about Silicon Valley and some of the cool technologies there. And I read about San Francisco.
One day, I decided that in order for me to be successful, I should remove myself from my country and plan a trip to U.S.A. And so I put together an elaborate plan.
The plan was for me to travel to China and become a teacher there for 1 year, and once I had enough money, I should travel around Asia to collect visa stamps. And then when I had enough visas, I should go to Spain so I could enter Europe. And If I was successful in getting a Schengen visa, I should do some traveling around Europe. After that would be either Canada or Australia and attempt to go to USA, whichever comes first. I wrote that my final destination was San Francisco, California. That's where I wanted to live.
My grandfather died that year and I had to go back to my hometown. I was telling everyone I wanted to go to China. That same year, I fell in love with a guy, whom I later married. He's an investor from San Francisco.
We started a family, and in 2009, I migrated in the U.S., and lived in San Francisco. I was granted an immigrant visa right away. In San Francisco I made so many manifestations in my vision board from 2008, which I will also write about later.
In San Francisco I grew my company and we started servicing businesses around the country. My dream of seeing my clients face to face came true. My dream of having a US company came true.
In 2013, I became an American and all the circumstances that led to this was full of drama, which I will write about in another post.
Looking back, I was amazed that I didn't have to go through my elaborate plan of traveling to the U.S. To be honest I didn't even ask to be an American. I just stated in my plan that my final destination is San Francisco and that is where I wanted to live.
Now this makes sense that I became an American for I stated that I wanted to live in San Francisco. To legitimately live in the U.S., you have to be a U.S. resident. And that was exactly my status when I arrived in the U.S. I was granted a U.S. residency because of my marriage to an American.
The natural progression of a U.S. residency is a U.S. citizenship. I took advantage of it and now I am a full-fledged American.
You think this could happen to anyone without some sort of intention. I don't know. I guess so. But I planned for it. I created an elaborate plan. HOWEVER, the universe orchestrated it better.
Why better? Because in my own elaborate plan, I didn't know what to do as soon as I arrived in the U.S. I thought my entry visa would be a tourist visa, and then I planned to look for work in the U.S. and pray that my employer would petition me to have a green card.
I have no relatives in the U.S., I don't know any family members in five generations of my family tree who had been to mainland USA. I am the only one in my family who is an American. This won't be possible if I didn't dream about it.

It always does. I used to wonder why these things happened to me. It became clear over time.

I love hearing your stories Vera you are so determined. Speaking of Asia, I have always been inspired by Jack Ma and how he built Alibaba. I love stories like these, the tech industry has made it possible for alot of dreamers to manifest their visions on a large scale. Cheers to you Vera!!

I love Jack Ma. I watched many of his videos. This guy is the epitome is "thinking big" and by that I mean really, really, really big. A true rags to riches story. I am inspired by him.
